Bonnie Swain serves as the Town’s finance & human resources director responsible for all financial records, reconciliation of accounts, payroll services, and personnel issues.

POSITION:  Police Officer

LOCATION: Town of Southern Shores, NC

SALARY RANGE: $40,479 – 60,720. Starting salary is dependent on experience and education.

DUTIES: Town of Southern Shores is located in the beautiful Outer Banks of North Carolina and is a coastal community, with a year round population of 2800, and seeks highly motivated and qualified candidates for position of police officer to perform general law enforcement duties which may include, but not be limited to: Protection of life and property, enforcement of laws and ordinances, investigating traffic accidents; answering calls for service and complaints; preventing and investigating criminal activity; testifying in court; performing related work as required which includes frequent interaction with the pubic; writing detailed and factual reports.

REQUIREMENTS: Prior law enforcement experience preferred but not required; completion of high school/GED; NC Basic Law Enforcement Certification; possession of valid NC driver’s license at time of appointment; willing to work rotating shifts; and, possession of computer skills needed to support job functions; prefer applicant reside within 20 miles of town limits.
