The Town of Southern Shores will conduct a public hearing on July 2, 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Southern Shores Town Council will hold a Public Hearing on July 2, 2024 in the Pitts Center located at 5377 N. Virginia Dare Trl, Southern Shores, NC 27949. The meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. The purpose of the hearing is to consider TCA-24-02, Town Code Amendments submitted by the Town of Southern Shores to amend Town Code Section 1-2 by adding definitions for “development” and “development approval” and by amending Town Code Section 16-4(b)(3)a.3. to allow submittal of a FEMA approved form, survey, or other documentation prepared by a licensed professional that demonstrates that the natural grade of a parcel exceeds the RFPE of eight feet instead of an under construction and finished construction elevation certificate in shaded X and X flood zones. The applications and materials are available for public inspection at www.southernshores-nc.gov and at the Planning & Code Enforcement Dept. at 5375 N. Virginia Dare Trl., Southern Shores, NC 27949. They will also be available for review at the meeting. The Town Council may make minor changes to the proposed text amendment at the meeting. All persons for or against the proposed text amendments are invited to be present and make whatever statements they desire.
